Stars Shut-out Red Wings

Dallas played really well tonight, especially early when Detroit was bombarding them with shots. Here are my thoughts on tonights game:

-Turco played REALLY well (28 saves). This might have been his best game this season. It's the first time he has beaten Detroit in regulation, so it's a big deal that he not only won, but got the shutout.

- This was the first time that Dallas beat Detroit at home in regulation since January 16, 2002. Belfour was in goal that game, and Niewendyk got 2 goals. So it was a long time ago.

-Dallas' last shutout against Detroit came in November of 2000. You think that's a long time, here's the kicker... this was the first time since 1973 that the Stars franchise shut Detroit out at home.
That's a span of...
34 years, 2 months, and 9 days
1,784 weeks
299,736 hours
17,984,160 minutes
1,079,049,600 seconds

So yeah...it's a big deal.

One last thing...
I met a young man from Scotland today, who go his own paper-route a couple of years ago, and saved his money to come see the Stars right here in Dallas. He was a big fan of the team, as well as our broadcasters. The ten-year old, came into the booth and got to meet, and talk to Ralph and Razor. It was pretty neat.
